Summary
The Global Central Bank Sales Team caters to central banks, sovereign wealth funds and other official institutions, and has teams in Asia, Middle East, U.S.
and Europe. This is a strategic client segment for the bank, both due to the sheer volume of business it entails, but also due to the bank’s exposure to official institutions.  All FICC products in all currencies are traded from within this team:  fx, interest rates, credit, money market instruments, plain vanilla and structured.  The European Central Bank Sales Team is split between London and Paris and currently has 5 senior team members.


The Sales Desk Assistant will be working with the European Central Bank Sales team, within the Capital Markets Sales Division, based in London, and will be tasked with assisting senior sales members in their daily duties.

Key Responsibilities

1.
Daily Tasks
Maintain awareness of all economic and financial data likely to affect the products being marketed.
Assist with the pricing of interest rate derivative and other products
Assist with trade idea generation and market analysis
Assist with market updates
Assist with client queries by gathering the relevant information from different teams (research, syndicate, DCM, trading)
Pre or post trade assistance with term sheets and confirmations as well as communication with the various Middle Office and Back Office Teams
Communicate and co-ordinate flows and orders with trading and global sales team.
2.
Control
Assist Senior Sales to ensure clients are suitably classified (under FCA rules) and are dealt with appropriately.
Assist Senior Sales to ensure clients and transactions are cleared by credit, legal, compliance and back office before trading.
Assist Senior Sales to ensure dealing remains within set time limits and efficient / ethical execution of client transactions.
3.
Counterparties and clients
On occasion you may be asked to join client meetings and outings to promote the bank and its products.
4.
Communication
Network with contacts in the business to generate business for the Global Markets Division.
Attend regular meetings with other members of the team to review marketing strategy and exchange ideas.

5.
Reporting
Report to the Paris Desk Head for Central Bank Sales on a business / functional basis
Preparation of various sales reporting documents for management, of which a monthly report on accounts activity i.e.
volumes/ business.

7.
Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities
Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy.
Complete any mandatory training in line with legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements.
Comply with all applicable conduct rules
