Overview:

You will be joining Global Investment Solutions (GIS) Information Technology (IT). The division provides technology solutions for all of the GIS businesses, including order and trade life cycle processing, position management, risk monitoring, risk calculation/aggregation and via a self-service web portal, trade rebalancing and sophisticated client reporting/tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

* Developing and implementing approved models in the GIS technology stack, using a combination of Java and Scala
* Undertaking full software life cycle, requirements analysis, architecture, development and technical delivery
* Interacting with multiple stakeholder and development teams, typically Front and Middle Office, quants, Quality Assurance (QA) teams and Client Services to support the associated applications
* Participating in code reviews, across all areas of the team, to improve the quality of deliveries
* Contributing to the platform redesign and architecture choices, playing an instrumental role in shaping the future of technology for the group
* Managing requirements using Agile methodology i.e. user stories and driving the Agile process forward by participating in backlog grooming, sprint planning and QA
* Engaging with the Architecture function to align solutions and overall platform goals
* Liaising with the QA team to ensure new functionality and requirements are incorporated in automated and manual test process
* Ensuring the implementation of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices
* Representing GIS when working with other IT and business teams to create, manage and track technology projects across complex multi-faceted deliveries

Skills & Qualifications:

* Excellent C# software development skills on Windows and Java on Linux (C++ experience would be beneficial)
* Working knowledge of Linux/Windows environment management and associated shell scripting for them, SQL, with an Oracle PL/SQL bias, OpenShift, Kubernetes and Docker, JavaScript and HTML and WebSSO and standard security role/permission models
* Previous experience of software engineering in a large organisation in an investment bank or asset management firm
* Experience and in-depth knowledge of multiple asset classes, including cash traded products, listed derivatives and derivatives covering equity, debt, credit or commodities
* Fund industry experience, including UCITS and Alternative (Hedge) Funds and Fund Linked Derivative Products (Delta One, Capital Protected, TRS, VFN) would be advantageous
* Experience of Risk Modelling of products, including pricing, risk (Greeks) and Profit attribution
* Knowledge of Market and Credit Risk procedures
* Broad understanding of trade life cycle and risk management
* Experience of industry SDLC best practice (Agile, Jira, CI, CD)
* Understanding of architectural design patterns and issues (scaling, resilience, security, stateless and container-less)
