Senior communications manager

Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role)

Under the guidance of the COO for RBWM Technology and working closely with the RBWM Technology CIO you'll be responsible for the development and implementation of change and general communications for RBWM Technology. RBWM Technology is a sub-function of HSBC Technology (IT) with over 2K employees globally.

You'll be responsible for all communications planning and delivery, creating great content and for engaging with colleagues in the wider function, programme and geographic network - both senior leaders and others at your level. Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas

Impact on the Business / Function

* Develop and drive communications activities and programmes that support the strategic goals and change agenda of RBWM Technology
* Create compelling content and messages using story-telling to engage employees about the progress and priorities of RBWM Technology, aligned to the overall Vision of HSBC Technology
* Communicate major change initiatives within RBWM Technology, in collaboration with the RBWM Technology COO, the Technology transformation team, along with other project managers and Global/Regional Communications colleagues
* Consider the external implications of implementing employee communications campaigns and projects and collaborate with media relations colleagues on external messages to mitigate risks
* Work with the Transformation communications team to input into, leverage and adapt global transformation tactics and assets in support of RBWM Technology change
* Support RBWM Technology leaders in developing their impact as thought leaders for the bank and in being visible leaders of change across A&D and the wider organisation
* Work with RBWM Technology COO and the Embedding Workstream and transformation communications team to develop clear technical guidance for the business

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role - not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.)

An experienced communications professional possessing the following:

 A proven track record in developing, managing and implementing employee communication plans translating into solid and practical delivery programmes

 Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work confidently, effectively and quickly with senior executives and transformation/project leads

 A strong team player who can work collaboratively with peers and manage and deliver excellent performance from

teams and individuals

 Strong experience in change communications design and delivery

 Ability to work quickly, managing time and priorities effectively

 Excellent interpersonal, strategic planning and project management skills

 Excellent verbal and written communications skills

 Strong knowledge of communication trends and best practice

 Experience of financial services industry and/or technology industry in a global setting
