Overview:

You'll be joining the Group Audit (GA) Credit Risk team which covers all key controls and processes performed by the Credit Risk Management (CRM) function for the wholesale banking portfolio on a global basis. The remit of the team is to assess the efficiency of those controls and raise to senior management any deficiencies for remediation. This team is also involved in business-led audits where credit risk is one of the topics to cover as part of those reviews

Key Responsibilities:

* Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks involved in the relevant business areas in accordance with Group Audit Methodology and the established risk assessment framework
* Contributing to Risk Assessment Profiles / Business Monitoring and overall implementation of Group Audit Methodology
* Participating and successfully delivering CRM audits, or Integrated Business and CRM audits both locally and globally
* Planning audits e.g. documenting activity flows of the processes to be reviewed, identifying risks and the key actual controls in place to mitigate the risks, and in addition to attending meetings with internal stakeholders
* Generating draft audit reports for review by senior Group Audit management and facilitating issue tracking and validating closure of issues
* Completing all assigned work on a timely basis, this may also include ad hoc projects and special investigations
* Being Proactively developing and maintaining professional working relationships with colleagues, the business and respective support areas
* Working in an integrated manner with fellow team members both locally and globally
* Understanding the client's market place and responding to expectations in order to continue to develop technical expertise relevant to the industry
* Whilst the majority of the audit work is based in the United Kingdom (UK), as part of a global team, some travel may be requires

Skills & Qualifications:

* Previous demonstrable experience of credit risk auditing in an investment-banking context
* Conversant with risk based auditing and have a clear understanding of the relationship between credit risk and underlying business risk
* Flexible, pro-active and self-sufficient with strong organisational skills to take ownership of agreed targets to enable efficient completion of audit projects
* Demonstrate an innovative mindset and ability to develop ideas which are implemented and have a positive impact
* Ability to multi-task assignments, prioritise workload with limited supervision, and be resilient under pressure and able to deliver to deadlines
* Excellent written/verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels within Group Audit and with the client
* Detailed understanding of practical and theoretical aspects of credit risk management and operations, best supported by formal certifications or practical experience in these operational areas
* An appreciation and understanding of industry trends and their potential impact on credit risk management and credit operations
