Overall purpose of role

The role of the Colleague Development and Knowledge Management Deputy is to support the Head of Knowledge & Development in delivery of the bank's Legal Knowledge & Development priorities and to support the Global Legal function (a population of approximately 900 across 3 regions), which is made up of predominantly qualified professionals. The main delivery channel of Knowledge Management ('KM') and Learning & Development ('L&D') within the function is the Legal Academy. The Colleague Development and Knowledge Management Deputy has the key accountabilities set out below and where appropriate, shall work in conjunction with Head of Knowledge & Development in support of these.

Key Accountabilities

Legal Academy:

* Supporting the launch of the Legal Academy and embedding it within the function, ensuring it operates in alignment with the overall Barclays Learning, Leadership and Talent ('LL&T') strategy as well as supporting the Legal function commercial approach
* Maintenance and update of the Legal Academy, providing training and support to overseas colleagues who are responsible for making specific updates to the Legal Academy
* Working closely with our law firms through partnering and engagement, securing buy in for the successful design, roll out and continuing development of the Legal Academy
* Training, Learning and Development:
* Working with Legal teams across the function to understand their requirements for access to and use of knowledge capital from our law firm partners which will inform their continuing professional development, developing expertise in their specific technical areas, latest advice and guidance on case law, judgements, legislation and regulatory change etc
* Working closely with internal stakeholders, our law firms and 3rd party KM suppliers to organise and/or facilitate the delivery of technical and soft skills training events
* Sharing the requirements and priorities of our Legal teams with our law firms to help them provide access to their own internal materials, expertise and so on through pre-agreed channels - digital, face to face training, seminars and so on
* Diarising training sessions, booking training rooms, managing attendance and waiting lists and obtaining feedback. Communicating constructive feedback to presenters in an appropriate manner, sharing the same with the LL&T team and other Academy functions
* Knowledge Management:
* Lead and manage the overhaul and streamlining of Legal's knowledge development and talent management intranet sites, liaising with the different content owners to ensure effective consolidation, updating and deletion of content (as appropriate)
* Budget Management:
* Maintain in real time the Legal Training Budget Tracker ensuring it accurately reflects training spend at all times, reporting any variances or overspends
* Collaborating with key stakeholders within the LL&T team to ensure that any training spend that is shared across functions is accurately captured on the Legal Training Budget Tracker
* Requesting purchase order numbers and sharing the same with 3rd party KM suppliers, reviewing invoices to ensure accuracy and facilitation of their payment through our online e-billing system
* Strategic Priorities and Initiatives:
* Supporting strategic function-wide LEXCO, External Engagement and KM priorities and initiatives
* Support in the education of colleagues on 'business as usual' processes and procedures that underpin the delivery of strategic priorities and initiatives
* Communication:
* Drafting the monthly Legal KM update, liaising with overseas colleagues to ensure group-wide content
* Participate in group-wide KM 'touch points' e.g. calls and forums
* Responsible for the preparation of agendas, minutes and following up on post meeting deliverables from attendees (where required) for KM meetings and forums
* Writing KM and L&D articles and materials for publication internally and externally
* MI:
* Facilitate the production of meaningful KM MI that will provide senior stakeholders with effective oversight and understanding of the status of KM initiatives and objectives
* Identify opportunities to standardise, automate and industrialise KM MI and engage with stakeholders across the function
* The role of the Colleague Development and Knowledge Management Deputy would suit a strong performing junior or mid-level candidate who either (i) currently works or has worked in a colleague development role or (ii) is looking to broaden their experience and skill set. The ideal candidate would be someone looking to develop their career within the team.
* Person Specification

Skills & Experience Required:

* Enhanced experience of Excel, PowerPoint and Word advantageous. SharePoint knowledge also helpful
* Ability to engage with and build strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders of differing seniority
* Basic numeracy skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong communication and presentation development/delivery skills
