Lean delivery manager

Overall purpose of role

* Take the lead in driving forward and embedding Lean Delivery to provide a lasting cultural and change capability to identify, prioritise, solve problems and implement and share improvements. Ensure sustainability of solution implementation to deliver lasting changes resulting in lower cost and higher performance

Key Accountabilities will include

* Develop and execute comprehensive lean management strategies relative to project and stakeholders, orchestrate and lead Lean management methodologies
* Assess current state conditions and identify how to reduce rework, improve efficiency, increase revenue and/ or improve the ability to deliver desired services or outputs
* Design the future operational state by streamlining processes, setting KPIs and defining new ways of working
* Lead cultural change towards a continuous improvement mind set. Coach line managers and team members on tools and methods for improving efficiency and effectiveness
* Provide hands on team facilitation, coaching, mentoring and/ or training and process improvement subject matter expertise to business partners

Relationship Management

* Establish and maintain a stakeholder network, enabling the facilitation of change
* Create strong relationships with peers and colleagues across BBS to identify opportunities, gather data and implement solutions
* Utilise relationships to identify and share best practice and work to common goals where appropriate
* Manage and enhance the client relationship with other business areas, performing impact analysis on change and ensuring that requirements are met

Decision-making and Problem Solving

* Identify and prioritise sources of process inefficiencies, organisational and skill building limitations
* Structure the project approach and determine process improvement tools to be used for maximising the net improvement in targeted business processes
* Take ownership for planning/ managing the execution and integration of initiatives and activities on cost management and productivity, which may include members from all disciplines of the organisation

Risk and Control Objective

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

Person Specification

This role requires a thorough understanding and practical application of Lean principles/ continuous improvement within a service driven operational environment. It also requires experience of dealing effectively with a wide ranging and complex network of stakeholders, up to a senior level.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

* Lean Competency Framework accreditation minimum 1BC, (2A desirable), together with experience of Lean/ continuous Improvement application in an operational environment
* Experience of training delivery and coaching of others
* Stakeholder management and engagement of key stakeholders to a senior level
* Excellent data analysis and Excel skills.
* Ability to provide a compelling reason for the need for change
* Ability to support people through change
* Exceptional communicator, able to liaise with stakeholders and team members
* Excellent people skills with a strong focus on team working within a high performing functional team
* Ability to set and deliver against challenging timescales
