Role Purpose

A Release Manager is responsible for ensuring all activities required to cover the scope of an in-country release of the Billing solution, including solution build, operational readiness, business engagement and cutover, are planned and coordinated in a controlled manner. This includes the establishment of a release, building the resource profile and the day-to-day management of the release.



Overview

Velocity is a major programme within Finance HOST that will re-engineer all of the HOST Financial Management processes, ensuring that HOST is able to provide the businesses with the transparency and insight into their charges, but also to meet any future organisational changes and regulatory requirements.



Key Accountabilities



Impact on the Business

Velocity will revolutionise the way the business views its costs and how it understands charges from its back-office functions. The Billing Team is central to this as it is responsible for the delivery of the technical solution to process recharges to the bank. This includes the delivery of:



* Release planning
* Scope management
* Project Roadmap
* Risks& Issues management
* Operational Readiness



Leadership & Teamwork

A Release Manager responsible for:

* Leading a team of 20-30 project staff
* Coordinating activities across multiple delivery work streams
* Ensuring resource contentions are identified and resolved or escalated

Operational Effectiveness & Control

Operationally a Release Manager is responsible for:

* The day-to-day management of a release
* Organisation and facilitation of country workshops
* Business engagement and operational readiness
* Management of governance
* The resource profile of a release
*







Role Context

A Release Manager engages with an overall project structure of 20-30 resources working on release management, system design and configuration, testing, technical design and build, business engagement and reporting and management information. The role serves as a conduit into other releases such as Service Company and Finance BAU.



Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role - not the role holder)

* A minimum of years of project management experience, ideally including on large scale, complex implementations
* Strong understanding and experience of the project lifecycle
* Strong programme planning and reporting skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills
* Good relationship management skills
* Finance project experience, preferably Billing
