Overall purpose of role:

* Be responsible for reporting and governance for Legal Operational Risk covering material in-function risks for example, Supplier Risk and Information Risk
* Build relationships with the other control functions, understanding their demands of Legal to implement assessment, monitoring and remediation of Operational Risks
* Support Group Centre Legal relationship, understanding their specific risk and control demands to build an effective partnership and relationship skills to help shape deliverables and expectations
* Support the development and enhancement of the Legal Operational Risk Framework, focusing on implementing consistent processes and methodologies for identification, analysis, measurement, monitoring and management
* Gather metrics and ensure robust processes for transparent management information for Legal Operational Risk
* Participate in control remediation, control assurance and implementation activities.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

This role will focus on Legal Operational Risk and the tools and processes to manage this. Key to the success of this will be to understand the requirements and frameworks of other key risks, engagement with multiple internal and external stakeholders and embedding sustainable, effective processes.

Legal Operational Risk Reporting & Framework Support:

* Drive the end to end process for collation, compilation and communication of Legal Risk management information at a global, regional and business level
* Exercise sound risk judgment based on practice and previous experience
* Be comfortable engaging with stakeholders internal and external and be comfortable in how and when to escalate in pursuit of the right outcome
* Own the risk events process on behalf of Legal, ensuring effective investigation, communication and follow-up with all areas of Barclays
* Assess proposed remedial actions for breaches, risk events and audit issues to ensure solutions are well thought through, scalable and will address any similar or related issueGroup Centre Legal Lead Support

* Support stakeholder management of Group Centre Legal ensuring reporting, management information, risk events and remediation are completed accurately and timely
* Build risk and control expertise for Group Centre and more broadly across Legal
* Support key risk and control processes such as the RCSA, Lessons Learnt and provide back-up analysis and documentation as appropriate

* Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include

Essential Experience

* Previous interaction with senior stakeholders and building relationships
* Good understanding of processes, applications and techniques utilised within Operational Risks and can utilise these needed within for the role
* Effective oral and written communication in both formal and informal settings
* Strong analytical skills and ability to pre-empt problems and identify effective solutionsPreferred experience

* Financial services industry knowledge

* Experience of projects (other longer term objectives) in assisting the design and implementation
* Good knowledge of MS Office Suite (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)
* Relationship Building and Teamwork

* Builds strong internal and external relationships
* Displays initiative and commitment to the team and department
* Works well in a team and maintains good relations with team members Technical
